Last night I got home late from a business trip. Both kids were snuggled with their mom in our bed, so I slept on the couch. They made their way out of the bed and were found asleep next to me. ❤️ moments like this. Wish I was awake to experience it. 😂

Today is the 10 year anniversary of my Dad’s unexpected death. He never had a chance to meet my kids. I never got a chance to say goodbye. As a career military man, he was stern and principled, yet gentle and compassionate. His influence still guides me today. I miss him dearly.

My first language was Korean. I spoke Korean until my family moved back to the US when I was 3. My mom’s friends told her to stop speaking Korean to me so I wouldn’t get bullied for having an accent. Imagine being a parent and having to hide your child’s identity to protect them.

Not too long ago I stayed at a job longer than I wanted when facing discrimination because of this perception. I hated that job a month after I started and stayed 3 years. It is incumbent of hiring managers to understand the context and situation versus jumping to conclusions.
