Southern Miss fans: Now that the season is over I have concluded that our problem is not the coach. That is the symptom. Our problem is a lack of funds. Funds we need to hire the best coordinators and NIL for players. BUY TICKETS at least!
Jason Brownlee announces via Facebook that he has made the 53 man roster with the New York Jets. What a accomplishment to go from un-drafted to making the roster.
Congratulations to him.
I’ll lay it out here again…if we want to be competitive once again with the so called power conference teams the last thing we need is “supporters” holding out until we have a better team.
Convince me I’m wrong…
Southern Miss is the school that got hit the hardest by conference realignment. From the late 70s to early 2000s they were better than either Ole Miss or MSU. Almost ended up in a conference with FSU, Miami, & VT. Only original CUSA team to not get promoted & now Sun Belt bound

A good coach like Scott Berry takes a chance on a player below the radar. He develops the player into one of noticeable value. Rich school buys his services for their “championship” team.
Somehow that just doesn’t seem collegiate.

Step 1 in building a rivalry is to piss off the other guy.
Step 2 the other guy kicks your ass.
There you have it, a healthy budding rivalry…

I was passed over for a promised promotion with South Central Bell way back in 1989 because (told to me in secret) they needed to get the headcount right. I stayed a few more years and then started a new career.
