Thread on all of the setups on ness leaving kaiser for isagi and how i think they could be fit most thematically correct into the story:
The first and most obvious one is related to kaiser and isagi's "reversing roles" throughout the NEL with isagi taking "everything" from kiis
I think i finally got what the "crown with a keyhole" means not to kaiser himself but to his narrative
We know that the "key" to unlocking one's potential is a "future they can live for and immerse themselves into" such as hiori wanting to create the best striker/awaken isagi
by far my fav consequence of the twist in perspective of the spin off rn is that we're seeing how twisted and abnormal isagi is from the pov of others
After this type of shit we can totally understand why barou absolutely wants to beat isagi, this is PTSD tier level shit
Now that it's been confirmed that Isagi is also actively manipulative... Let's go back to Isagi deliberately saying "Let's eat steak together again" to Kunigami, which perhaps wasn't just a callback to the old times, but a calculated attempt to bring out Kunigami's ego... I'm...
No matter how badly the hiori part of the ubers match ruined some peoples perception of the ubers match let it not be forgotten that kaneshiro cooked arguably the best match ever of the series in terms of football, storylines, stakes and intensity before hiori came in
Isagi's growth is so insane when you think about it.
In only some months he went from being the worst of blue lock to bickering with noel noa his idol and best striker in the world, while being in a competition with the best u20 striker in the world
Kaneshiro giving us even more clues to what makes a striker, not only is their ego/desire twisted but it also yearns for the love and attention of others, which is why they manage to attract and make the heat of others get even stronger
they turn the 0 of others into 1

you can share the link of this tweet tho
Will do a video analysis of all this on my channel go check it out if you're interested
One thing I LOVE about this panel and that may or may not have been on purpose (i'm sure it has) is that generally when players are following their ego/focused on their objective the uneven effect making up their eyes will be pointing towards the center but here ? It's shaking
Chapter 234 animation
I would like to say it's not done yet but i deleted it by accident without saving so this is the final product let's say
DONT SHARE WITHOUT PERMISSION
though you can share the tweet
will be making an analysis on my channel
and so the "Blood" that some have theorized about could be from the physical abuse he received or whatever. But basically the roughed up ball could be a sign of him using it alone and without support, or himself being roughed up as a result of all this.
Ok so let's analyze a bit the "chains" of hiori
The first important thing is that i don't think the chains and collar represent "ego" itselg since for example during bachira or rin's awakening we never actually saw those chains
Thread on all of the setups on ness leaving kaiser for isagi and how i think they could be fit most thematically correct into the story:
The first and most obvious one is related to kaiser and isagi's "reversing roles" throughout the NEL with isagi taking "everything" from kiis
My friend who's in japan managed to get them for me
WERE SO FUCJKING BAAAAAAAAAAAAACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I think i finally got what the "crown with a keyhole" means not to kaiser himself but to his narrative
We know that the "key" to unlocking one's potential is a "future they can live for and immerse themselves into" such as hiori wanting to create the best striker/awaken isagi
So kaiser's awakening can only ever come when he'll let go of his father and embrace himself via his own sense of value instead of keeping himself in the sense of self of a "shitty human" that his father burned with an iron on his heart
Small thread (or maybe not) on the blue lock panneling
The art is for sure a gigantic highlight but how you show it is just as important and nomura has an insane class at this
One of the tricks he uses is making the characters overlap with the frames and i want to show this
But here kaiser's current ego, his future of "putting everyone into despair" is a future that he can't immerse himself fully into because of the thorns, the hurt, the pain that he still has in his heart and has come out via the malice in his heart
And once he does find whatever that key is ? The crown will finally be his, he'll truly become god's chosen emperor, not simply kaiser, but michael kaiser
We see throughout the NEL that isagi and kaiser constantly share parrallels but most importantly that where we got certain scenes for kaiser at the beginning of the NEL, the parrallels with isagi are instead happening right now such as:
Kaiser stealing passes from isagi's mates
Absolutely love this moment where to isagi it's so natural but when you then look into things in a more "objective way" isagi's story is just as self centered. The fact that he even compares himself to chris noa and kaiser while not having scored yet, the glow in his eyes
Ily isg
So kaiser's awakening can only ever come when he'll let go of his father and embrace himself via his own sense of value instead of keeping himself in the sense of self of a "shitty human" that his father burned with an iron on his heart
- "appears out of nowhere"
- says a cringy line
- "does a better job than defenders"
Yet i see no one insulting him the same way they do for isagi
Society
And so kaiser has "misunderstood" that first impulse he had of "identity", his identity is currently one based on the outside, one that depends ENTIRELY on how others view him compared to his peer in "ego" isagi who already has a strong enough sense of self that he can fight back
Small animation of the field for chapter 224, ain't totally accurate as otherwise it would impossible to look at so i took some liberties
The biggest thing is that niko is way deeper than he normally is
small thread of my thoughts about kaiser, what his future holds (next chap) and also parts of things i've always kept for myself or only talked around a bit since it was all theory and headcanon before this chap dropped and confirmed it >>>>
Kaiser being forced to pay attention to isagi to even be able to get near a scoring position
Kaiser seeing isagi as the "impossible" his father was and that he tried to be before in his life via malice, like he says "the same as what my father did but to the world's best"
And we do know that:
-Those goals all were made by a Best X best chemical reaction
-those goals helped the players "awaken their ego" and build it up
-ness got a backstory before the match
-hiori's link with isagi helped him "break his chain" and generally awaken fully
Now we can finally understand why exactly kaiser is "similar" to isagi, where isagi wants to be the protagonist in everyone's mind via his plays, kaiser is the same
Simply that where isagi's desire for this comes from his deeper self, kaiser's desire is a coping mechanism
We see that kaiser's first impulse of identity came from himself, from the ball he held dearly, not from destroying his father or the outside
It came from defending what he held dearly from this reality and fighting back against the "impossible" of his situation
What is ness' chain ? The blue rose and its thorns, kaiser
This along with the newest chapter where we see ness with shiny eyes (showing that he's talking from his deeper self/ego) but still getting rejected and looks almost "fearful" from seeing kaiser's current state
My favorite part of the chapter has to be reo's monologue, not necessarily his feelings directly but the fact that he can see exactly what those feelings are and face them head on. Many people in his situation would find things to cope, hide their feelings away with other reasons
So kaiser's key, the thing to fully unleash his potential and that will let him be able to truly be "human" will come in the form of a future, a sense of self which is based on himself and that this time, will be able to have him fight back against reality with his own strength
Pretty interesting that the key for hiori's chain seems like the key for isagi's chains but later on when hiori actually talks about his own ego another key instead appears. Seems like it could be an allusion to how strikers can awaken others
though my favorite part will always be isagi's aura as he says kurona to "go get it"
an important thing is also that kurona notes that "even with his top speed he could barely get it" and knowing isagi this has been made on purpose meaning that +
this sequence still resonates to me everytime i see i, kurona's one touch lob pass is so incredibly insane to pull off idk if people realize it
as a whole this play showed off how huge isagi's evolution has been with MV but also how well kurona's link up ability is, what a scene
And so kaiser currently has ness by his side, what kurona was to isagi of sorts, but if we continue the parrallel further then kaiser should end up just like isagi, alone, his existence not proven and maybe even on the bench
Woke up from a nap, my head feels like shit so might as well talk a bit about how isagi's awakening of MV gives us the most important view into what could be his downfall in the form of his "god complex" which isn't like the one you're used to thinking about
Just a short thread about reo and ego and how ego shows that reo, while still being a different path to blue lock is a valid one nonetheless. Will be writing things on a whim so if the thread doesn't feel that "structured" you know why
Ok so, not a big fan of reo (i love the character just that he doesn't resonate with me a lot) so, so far ep nagi hasn't been my cup of tea BUT
This scene i loved because in the isagi pov nagi looked menacing and had spiral eyes whereas here his eyes are shining like a baby
People don't realize how deep this panel goes, this is the proof that sae didn't get crushed as a striker and "fled" by becoming a midfielder but instead that he hit a natural wall in terms of ability (not a born striker) and that he followed instead HIS path which is one of a MF
A thread on what the predator eye is:
I've seen a lot of people talk about the predator eye but also not understand what it exactly is so here's a thread to fix that, this will be an analysis on different shots in the series that are based on this ability to understand it better
A dynamic of co-dependency where one of the two (reo/ness) has seemingly "forgotten" their dreams and aspirations and instead is simply following the one of his partner, limiting by a huge margin not only their individual growth but also the duo's performance by extension
Now for the second one being the "narrative formula of the NEL" which is probably the easiest to talk about
Kuni focus before the match -> goal with isagi assist
Yuki focus before the match -> goal with isagi assist
Hiori focus before the match -> assists isagi
All final goals
One thing i rarely if not never saw being talked about is the change in rin's aura. While trying to become sae he had a water like aura, which could expand to others. After his awakening it instead turns into a mass of monstruous beings with no real shape. This has a pretty deep
Small thread on isagi's left/right eye dichotomy in the ubers match
As you might've noticed, isagi's right eye tends to be hidden/different from his left
The best example is the following where while thinking of goals isagi has in mind only one thing, scoring
Making my chapter review here, not every detail but those that i think matter (and that i'm not too tired to write about)
#bllkspoil
First off: Hiori's feeling of being at the center of the world is basically him getting for the first time in his life his "protagonist feeling"
"prove my existence" -> gets an assist
"Make kaiser my weapon" -> devours MV from him
"Defeat kaiser" -> one more goal than kaiser
"I'll surpass everything" -> hat-trick ?
Chapter 225 animation, made it on my discord server with some of the guys following the channel watching me do it and explain some details. Had a great time and really made the experience better glad i started this ytb shit
But for ness, there's literally nothing to force him to put himself before kaiser is there ? Well there is indeed something, the newly introduced "battle of systems" where we recently saw that noa subbed off grim for kurona
So with isagi scoring this next goal
And so where has this dynamic led ngro ? To the story outright shoving down our throat that the duo's co-dependency will need to be broken and that reo will need to "have the courage to let precious things go"
And most importantly, reo will need to do it
Yk what's the most op part of isagi's sensing others without looking at them ? The fact that he's also able to fucking sense their line of sights. Blud was able to sense niko looking at him and if he can do this reliably during a full 90 min match idk who can stop him
This small change from "the" to "a" in the official translation changes a lot of what may have made people mad
By using "the" there's a sort of undefined time constraint, until isagi is THE king of the football world hiori will be there
By using "a" the time constraint is NEL
People who say isagi keeps winning for sure haven't read the despair-porn that kaneshiro had my boy go through in barcha match and most of the MC match properly
And so again, if we go through with this parrallel that has obviously been continuing so far, ness should also "leave kaiser" as a means to grow and also achieve his own dream, but an important thing for reo's situation is that circumstances (bid system) will "force him to"
A field where the "magic" of both isagi and rin are there, the perfect place for him to show his magic to the world, and so, would instead ask directly to noa to be subbed on instead of kaiser as a means to finally be on the field for the final goal of the match
Which could surely happen (we'll only talk about this case) then we have the potential for ness to be met with a crossroad, let himself die for kaiser's sake and leave him alone on the field OR instead ask to noa that he stays on the field and so betrays kaiser, leaving kaiser
this sequence still resonates to me everytime i see i, kurona's one touch lob pass is so incredibly insane to pull off idk if people realize it
as a whole this play showed off how huge isagi's evolution has been with MV but also how well kurona's link up ability is, what a scene
the worst part is that this isn't even that incorrect, even when isagi awakened his direct shot bachira just KNEW without even isagi saying anything that the fucker was remembering his old goals and was unlocking something it's insane
Just realized but isagi while wearing the WC jersey does have his chains removed, depending on how exactly they're removed the key to his awakening could be either rationality or him awakening his dormant ego and realizing what it is exactly
A thread on why barou scoring would be a miracle (field and narrative analysis)
Let's start with the current state of the field which should look like this (only taking in the players that are important)
