It's v.telling of how western states model family in itself. The idea of extended family being seperate to the nuclear family allows for increased hyper-individualism, loneliness, co-dependence and a lack of financial support - all of which are symptomatic of a capitalist model.
Grievance pay in the UK is so westernised and backwards. They’ll only offer it for “direct family” ie your parents and siblings but in other communities it’s different. I may have raised my little cousin, I may have been raised by my grandparents and aunts

Couples should not supposed to do romance in the kitchen or in balcony. Go to the room & do whatever you want to do. Accidentally, I went to the kitchen, bhabhi & bhai were hugging. They got freeze, I get back, aur doodh gir gaya saara jou boil hou raha tha. Ajeeb !

Whilst I'm not against arranged marriages, it's the process of sifting I take issue with. Sima's view that women must forfeit their personalities in order to get married is outdated and not inline with modern day life.
Arranged marriages were something our ancestors and great great grandfathers practiced. But this is 2022. And the series doesn't show the reality that Indian women don’t have the ability to dissolve their marriages if they don't work out.

I think any type of impact-work where the pay off is seeing how much it helps people, provides so much fulfilment. It can be really difficult divorcing yourself from a well-paying (or even paying), soulless job for a multitude of reasons, but I would defo recommend volunteering.
One of my favourite things about scouts is when you put in energy into running activities etc and then the kids give you back so much more and they fully get into it. I just love it

Opening a bank account in Dubai vs London: My experience
Dxb - Tedious to deal with and uncompetitive. Good customer service in-branch and women only too.
Ldn - Relatively quick and easy to sign up (literally 10 mins with most digital banks. Generally decent customer service.

A great point! It actually derives from the time of the Prophet PBUH, where traders would raise the price of goods on the outskirts of the city. This was deemed unlawful as it was exploiting both the market and people.
Islamic finance is rich in ethics and morality.
I went to my local petrol station today (my usual), Muslim owned. They didn't increase the price for fuel like the other 2 petrol pumps in my area have done and I congratulated and thanked them for this. The owners reply was beautiful, he said the following:

there's something to be said about the pressure some feel on being the breadwinner, and the guilt and codependence this can cause. Some also feel bc their own parents have done so it's an expected norm, without everyone involved considering the current/future repercussions.
