beat trip mode, & even if some of the bosses dragged & fang3 was hard, i still really enjoyed my time. i love playing as her so much she's so fun. love how she's chaotix-coded with her vector wheel and espio ceiling climbing. she's so adorable why were people mean to her 🥺

I like how they all follow a certain artstyle with the human characters they should’ve did this from the beginning. Instead of 06 where Sonic’s literally looks like something from a creature shop with a head that could eat Elise in one go.

Shadow at this point chooses his own path in life and hates his past which means he pretty much means he hates Maria and Gerald. He literally does his last wish and throws away a picture of them to show it. He even say bye to his past life because it’s a new life he lives now.

I’m sorry I don’t think this works. Sonic is already mature in his own right and has alway been. Sonic is just introverted and shows his close relationships in a different way. Sonic can develop but he’s never gonna change dramatically. Especially being a flat arc.
There's been a lot of debate about why Classic Sonic is written much more, "like Sonic," in IDW, than Modern Sonic is. And I think something people aren't considering but is obvious is that Ian Flynn is clearly trying to make Modern Sonic feel older and more mature than Classic

People say Sonic is intelligent yes but he doesn’t ramble he’s a guy if few words. For him to go on like that is not in character. He wouldn’t even say half of that stuff to Sage to begin with. Sonic observes more than he talks and I think not a lot of people get that.

I did a little bit more by making the plot more in line with the actual games. Which means taking out ideas and having the characters actually in character. I also did some redraws to fit dialogue and make it more x/Maekawa cause I like it🧵
So reason I was thinking about IDW 50 again is because I wanted to rewrite some lines. It's definitely not perfect and a big part is that I tried to rewrite dialogue and keep the story's intent.
Starting. Noticeable lack of Sonic's earnesty. He dodges accountability regularly.

This is the thing about Ian he gets some of the stuff about Sonic! But not everything is, it’s still a different character.

As a writer who likes to write for other media it’s important I understand more than just the surface. Ian doesn’t-

It’s so bad it just shows the lack of knowledge that Ian and sometimes fans have of Sonic. I remember going through a whole conversation because I said Sonic was being super rude for no reason with Amy rushing her to ignore the coco. Eve thought Sonic would help in a heart beat.

Did we all forget the dialogue is formulated differently in the Japanese? And literally the entire thing is riding off of Ian dialogue and has to fit it in his flaps as best as they can? Basically replacing this whole line to make it in character and explaining things?

Ok Sonic was never cocky the Japanese just shows this.
And the reason Eggman gets Sonic isn’t because of his cocky attitude it’s because he knows Sonic is know to let his guard down and not think things through.
I don’t get how people see Sonic as cocky it’s so bad.
The more evidence comes to mind, the more I dislike how the Japanese side handles these stories.
Sonic's Cockiness is lost here, and Eggman's biggest Achievement in this entire game, of being able to trick sonic, is lost. They never treat him like an actual threat.

No more mandates we need someone who understands the characters. We live in a generation where Sonic fans are grown enough to be writers and there are plenty of people who understand the characters better than the people working on now who don’t have or care for the knowledge
The problem is SOA doesn't have ENOUGH mandates on the characters. Everyone should be as or more chained up than Shadow so whoever writes stories will have detailed guidelines on what they should and shouldn't do. They can learn how these guys are and save us from the headaches.

For a lot of people it is a 9/10 but for me it’s a 10/10 its up there with Shrek 2. And it’s very family oriented but not in a full character/comedic way like Shrek but in a more character/action kind of way there is comedy though. It also handles mature subjects very well.

Amy, Cream, and Big are supposed to be normal people at their core. What separates Amy is the fact she love’s adventure. Cream does it for the idea of fun at times and big really isn’t supposed to be into adventure at all he did what he did in SA1 so save his friend nothing else.
