Those people who suggest the Michaela pupil should have chosen a different school would presumably have suggested that Rosa Parks should have stayed in the back of the bus because she "knew the rules when she got on board."

Some personal news : after 114 terms of school life behind me and my 60th birthday next month, this is my last week of full time work in education. I’ll still be working 0.6 on my coaching and consultancies, but the kids on this register are now in their mid-fifties. It’s time.

The student was right to attend the school and to raise the issue as an infringement of rights. Those that suggested "she knew the rules, she could of chosen another school" miss the point of intentionally challenging injustice. Maybe Rosa should've "kept her head down" ?

All I see is motivated teachers sharing ideas and experiences. I’ve never been but fail to see either a sinister character pulling the strings or a systematic bias. It is what it is, and colleagues with a problem are free to set up their own network with suitable platforms too.
