We are incredibly disappointed that Unite members have voted not to accept our latest improved and above-inflation pay offer, inflicting yet further disruption on our customers in the region. There will now be no Go North East buses
🚌 TYNEMOUTH 🚌
This month marks the 100th anniversary of the very first motorbus service between North Shields and Blyth.
To mark the occasion, we've painted a double-decker bus into vintage 'Tynemouth' colours which resembles the original company.

Despite our driver's best efforts, we're currently unable to operate due to the condition of the roads. Buses are running to the end of their current journeys and will terminate service for the evening. We're sorry we have had to make this decision.

🚌 CONCESSIONARY TRAVEL 🚌
From tomorrow, concessionary travel pass holders will be able to travel free of charge at all times on our buses, to help them access shops and vital services earlier in the day.
Many of our colleagues are wearing black today and some of our buses in Derwentside are being driven by drivers helping from other depots as colleagues attend the funeral of our much missed driving team member David Cameron who was tragically killed in Consett back in December.

Today we've launched one of the UK's first dedicated vaccination shuttle bus services.
The bus serves the Nightingale Hospital Vaccination Centre up to every 15 minutes, connecting with service 56 at Concord.

Update on strike action: Monday 25 September
We’re sorry to tell you that Unite the Union has called a series of strikes at Go North East which are likely to bring many of our bus services to a halt on the following dates:
• Saturday 30th September - Friday 6th October
If you are travelling on our buses at 11am today, some of our drivers may stop to observe a minute's silence in respect of Go-Ahead London colleague Kenneth Matcham who sadly lost his life in a road traffic accident last week.
