glinda during defying gravity in the musical vs movie
“maybe you're not as powerful as you think you are.”
vs
"you can do this, you can do anything”
the movie has clearly deepened the love/adoration between the girls and i am so grateful! their separation will be so painful
the footage begins with ariana saying “are people born wicked, or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?” followed by a scene depicting that elphaba has been green since she was born
Like is that all y’all got as to why your team is supposedly superior ? 😭 why not bring characters from the actual team on the dance. Bc nobody cares about their lame asses lol
the footage ends with elphaba accepting her flying broomstick. "you can do this, you can do anything," glinda tells her. "i’m not afraid," she says, "it’s the wizard who should be afraid of me” and she leaves through the window.
@grandekordei
also elphaba should be about 3 years older than glinda. she was only allowed to go to uni when her younger sister, nessarose, was old enough
every glinda actress will tell you her being alone at the end is the consequences of her actions and that she isn’t being “rewarded” what even is this take???
@cowsupremacyy
I could go into a whole essay about how Glinda the Good/Galinda role as a foil to Elphaba is a projection on how white liberals think they're our allies and want to save us without fulling understanding our struggles. Glinda being rewarded in the end is a white power fantasy.
