On Feb. 10, 2021, the Texas Rangers designated Adolis Garcia for assignment and cleared a spot on the 40-man roster for Mike Foltynewicz.
All 29 other teams — including Cardinals — let him clear waivers, and on Feb. 13, 2021, Rangers invited him as a non-roster player to camp.
On Dec. 21, 2019, the Texas Rangers paid a nominal sum of cash to the St. Louis Cardinals for the rights to a 26-year-old outfielder with 17 major league at-bats.
His name was Adolis Garcia.
In the ALCS this year, Garcia is hitting .357/.400/.893 with five home runs and 15 RBI.
