Have fond memories of recording that one.
I'm a huge Guess Who fan, specifically the classic Bachman-Cummings era. However, the band's first post-Randy album is an absolute beast. So many brilliant songs, including Share the Land - perhaps my favorite Guess Who tune.

The Guess Who disbanded in 1975. There was no continuation of the band…you are correct. Just a cover band of rotating musicians using the hit songs of the real line ups to sell tickets because they have none of their own.

The only The Guess Who that should be is with you and Randy Bachman. That band, unfortunately, ceased to exist in 1975. Any "reincarnation" of it is a different entity and is NOT the real The Guess Who.
