: "I don’t think Kyle Busch retaliates often enough on the track to think he needs to get decked, but I get why Ricky Stenhouse Jr. felt the need."
There is nothing to apologize for when:
--Taking a perceived threat seriously
--People show support for one another
--Making policy to be more inclusive & more welcoming
--Doing what you feel is right, regardless of any perceived business consequences
Ryan Newman is more than a wreck. He’s more than a scary highlight. Those in NASCAR know The Rocketman. For those who don’t, Bob Pockrass explains who Ryan Newman is, and what he means to the NASCAR family.

Sad news from Texas Highway Patrol. DGR hauler driver Steven Stotts was pronounced dead at the scene. Passengers John Zaverl and Michael Mizzelle are in stable condition. Driver of the other vehicle involved is in stable condition. They were taking ARCA car to Phoenix.
NASCAR says of 1684 garage stalls, only 11 have pulled-down tie rope with a knot & only Wallace's stall was a noose .... NASCAR also confirms that the noose wasn't tied like that in the garage stall at the start of the October 2019 race weekend, that it happened during weekend.
Sherry Pollex, a fixture in the NASCAR garage who championed childhood cancer research and treatment and whose fight against ovarian cancer over the last nine years served as an inspiration to many, has died at age 44. RIP, Sherry. Family statement:
This is the way I will remember Sherry Pollex. Walking the Catwalk in 2016 after she had one of the kids take off her wig and throw it to the ground. A symbol of strength, determination, fight, joy and faith.
Official: Both NASCAR weekends at Bristol in 2024 will be on the concrete. No dirt race at Bristol. Two concrete race weekends. Dates still TBA.

Noah Gragson on his thoughts of the Ty Gibbs-Brandon Jones finish: “But I guess … you’ve got to kind of deal with that when you’re driving that Ty Gibbs Racing car, I mean Joe Gibbs Racing car.”
Jeremy Clements has won his appeal. His Daytona win will now count toward the playoffs and he has all his points back and the fines have been rescinded.
Ryan Preece takes off his sunglasses to show reporters his eyes. He said he has no vision issues. It is typical after a flip like that to have blood vessels burst.
Coy Gibbs was always friendly to me. Often when there was something controversial or sensitive or personnel related, Coy would say he couldn't talk to me b/c he would have to lie when answering some of the questions and he didn't want to lie to me. He said it with a grin. RIP.
Chase Elliott on Kyle Busch challenging for the wins at the Clash, Daytona and then the win at Fontana: “I’m not surprised and anybody who is should rethink their NASCAR knowledge.”

... NASCAR is allowing the 43 team to check the car this morning at Talladega to make sure nothing was tampered with while it was impounded overnight.

In tribute to JTG Daugherty Racing hauler driver JR Hollar, who died Sunday following a brief illness, the hauler drivers had the 47 hauler lead them into the Bristol garage earlier today.
Former Formula 1 champ Jenson Button finished 18th on his Cup debut.
“The revenge is enjoyable, but there are points where it feels we can do better. The action is amazing, don’t get me wrong.”
So stoked to work with the talented & enthusiastic folks at Fox Sports, which has provided me with an opportunity to continue to cover

through my journalistic lens. I can’t wait to get started at Daytona (my 28th consecutive Daytona 500) and see where this goes.
Bubba Wallace has been suspended for the Cup race at Homestead-Miami Speedway for the incident with Kyle Larson. It's a one-race suspension; no fine nor points penalty.
Racing in a city location is an attempt to broaden the fan base. No matter crime rate, bad things can happen at any venue. But I wouldn't expect you to know that, just like you didn't know that the windshields already are bulletproof (in case of flying debris from other cars).
@bobpockrass
I don't see target practice on the Chicago schedule??
Will they use bulletproof windows on the cars?
Will pit crew members be required to wear bulletproof vest?? SAFETY first!!!
NASCAR Hall of Famer Cale Yarborough, who won three consecutive Cup championships from 1976-78 and is tied for sixth all-time with 83 career wins, has died at age 84. RIP to one of the sport's greatest drivers.
Derrick Lancaster released from hospital.
From Beth Lancaster:
“Virginia here we come👐❤👐❤🏁
We're bringing him home 👐❤🏁
Praising God with all that's in us👐🙏❤”
I don't know why y'all hatin' on the fuel mileage racing. They're just trying to go slow so you can see their numbers since there's no pylon to know who is where. (sarcasm folks, just tryin to lighten the mood).
JGR: “It is with great sorrow that Joe Gibbs Racing confirms that Coy Gibbs (co-owner) went to be with the Lord in his sleep last night. The family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers and asks for privacy at this time.”
NASCAR has confirmed that Kyle Larson has requested reinstatement. NASCAR is reviewing the request and he currently is still indefinitely suspended.

Breaking news: Chase Elliott out for this weekend after snowboarding accident. Suffered leg injury and having surgery. Josh Berry will replace him for Vegas.
I have never heard a description of how someone won a championship quite like this. Engine noises. “I was pissed.” “It ain’t happening mama jamma” and “Championship’s cool.”
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was critical of Brad Keselowski pushing in the corner. Stenhouse: “I guess he just tried to wreck everybody in the field until he won. I guess his other car won that he gave up. So kudos to him.”
Kurt Busch: "Upon inquiry by various press outlets today, I am heartbroken to confirm that my wife Ashley and I are working to dissolve our marriage. Divorce is a personal and private matter and I hope our privacy will be respected."
Martin Truex Jr. posted on his IG story: "To my fans and partners... Sherry and I have made the decision to end our relationship. I will continue supporting Sherry moving forward. I would ask that you respect our privacy as there will be no further comment about this matter."
Scenes from last night’s Martin Truex Jr. Foundation Catwalk for a Cause, where NASCAR drivers walk with kids battling cancer to raise funds for the foundation that supports children’s and ovarian cancer care and research.
JR Motorsports wins the appeal of the Noah Gragson DQ. His fourth-place finish is reinstated and he also earns the $100K Dash 4 Cash bonus.

Kurt Busch (concussion) to miss start of playoffs. 23XI has withdrawn waiver request, so two playoff spots available at Daytona. Busch: "I respect the sport of NASCAR, my fellow drivers and the fans too much to take up a playoff spot if I know I can’t compete for a championship."
I had one team owner come up to me in the garage and tell me he hasn't had the opportunity to thank me or cuss me out in 14 months. I told him I missed both.
Remember when Josh Bilicki in No. 44 Xfinity car pushed a Sargento sign around Road America? ... Well something good came out of it ... Sargento will be primary sponsor for Bilicki in Alpha Prime No. 45 Xfinity car at Watkins Glen next week. Bilicki's Wisconsin roots helped.
NASCAR: Following the completion of Stage 2, NASCAR will bring the field down pit road, have them shut off the engines and honor and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with a Moment of Remembrance.
Stewart-Haas Racing makes it official: Noah Gragson will drive the No. 10 Ford full time in the Cup Series next season as part of a multiyear agreement. Drew Blickensderfer to crew chief. Sponsorship still a work in progress.
