Lowering cholesterol by eating veg. oils (+other plant foods) does not reduce mortality. May in fact increase it. Why? Plants contain phytosterols, which compete with human cholesterol. Evidence presented in this little-known paper by @zoeharcombe

The world's largest producer of insulin is also the founder/funder of the World Diabetes Foundation. Anyone see any conflict there? Insulin manufacturers also on the board of the Amer. Diabetes Assn. Must be hard to $see$ food-based solutions.

Because I pointed out Harvard’s vegan advocacy, the plant-based defenders sent in The trolls on me. I guess it’s not nice to point out that an esteemed university is promoting a radical diet that doesn’t sustain human life, possibly for ideological reasons or industry pay offs.

Does @CNN realize Harvard (author of 2 studies mentioned here) is leader of vegan advocacy? Harvard papers funded by nut industry+other vegetarian interests. CNN might note: protein from nuts/plants way higher in calories (and plant proteins not complete)

A common side effect of statins is muscular weakness/damage (can be permanent). Now, a pair of studies in the U.S. and Israel “really strongly suggests” how this happens--via the HMG-CoA reductase pathway, The clue came from Bedouin tribes with muscular dystrophy.

Why are health officials not talking more about obesity + #Covid deaths? Is it bc they have no real solutions? Bc diets, such as cutting sugars, starches, make no $ and are (thus) opposed by industry? Silence on such an important subject is deafening.

Superbly written, important op-ed by @nsbarsky on reversing type 2 diabetes. Reversing this condition is possible with diet alone, but MDs won't quite tell you, bc they're immersed in the pharma model of treatment. New book by @garytaubes reveals the story. Please share!

@nytimes It's not a balanced discussion to talk about ending meat consumption without talking about human health. Increased malnutrition, increased risk of disease. Eating animals are central to human evolution, and our biology has not changed.

97% of Louisiana #COVID19 deaths have pre-existing conditions(40% w/ diabetes, 25% obesity, 21% cardiac problems) New Orleans death rate is 7x that of NY city. Diet-related diseases need diet-related solutions, not pills. #4dietaryreform #coronavirus

Harvard Nutrition Dept strongly objects to the new WHO guideline limiting fat to 30% of calories. That's the low-fat diet all over again--amazing, bc it's been shown to harm health. Kudos to @HarvardChanSPH for responding to evolving science🙌

Experts have known how to reverse type 2 diabetes for a very long time, but this information, now supported by multiple clinical trials, is still being withheld from the general public. Shouldn't withholding a 'cure' be medical malpractice?

1973 Atkins had to appear at a Senate Hearing. Crime: Saying #diabetes is result of excess sugars & grains & that this condition could be reversed with high(er) fat, moderate protein, sugar/grain restricted diet. Atkins prevailed but the vacuous demonization never stopped

Hi, @nypost , I think you need a correction, as both the headline + photo are inaccurate. This is not a study about meat. Its findings are that an extremely high-protein diet (>35%), where "protein" is not defined, decreases testosterone. Could be soy shakes for all we know.
