Recently learnt the cruel reality of "lockers" where families usually the patriarch or matriarch keep one in bank for all valuables. All bahus must give their gold etc to in-laws and it is then kept there for safety. Except the access is limited, and many women lose their gold..
This is pretty amazing. There is a lot of financial abuse in the local context. This should be taken up by local banks and regulator as a safeguarding initiative. Obviously will require training and re-training the bank staff and so on..
