I feel a huge weight has been lifted. Today I gave in my notice . It’s a sad day too as I’ve given 12 years to radiotherapy, I trained for my degree with 3 kids under 5yrs old & now I am walking away from it. Sometimes your own wellbeing HAS to come first.

Having been under a dark cloud all week my daughter made me go for a run. She said don't come back till you've run 10 miles ☹️ once I started I kept going and managed 16 miles 🙌 she is wise beyond her years 😍

My run today was Lakeland50 which I had entered.
I came to the lakes undecided if I would run after having covid 10 days ago.
I promised friends I would stop if I needed to.
I DNF’d at 20 miles, my head wasn’t in it & I’ve spent too many races completely them to punish myself

Yes yes it did hurt 😩....... ended up 33 miles with 4932 feet of muddy elevation. I hated running today .. I cried (I don’t do crying 🙄) , I wanted to DNF twice. It made me question every insecurity I have. A bad day at the office 😔

I had a sort out of my medals today. I’d never actually counted numbers nor do I know PB’s as they aren’t important to me. I decided to put all my marathon medals together 👌🏻 looks more tidy I thought 🤔. Daughter however “is that all of them, that’s not many” 12 marathons 🤷🏼♀️

My more sensible reflection from SDW50 😂
1: I completed it
2: I got a 2.5 hour pb from from previous 50 miler at Chester.
3: that pb also included an additional 3000 feet of upage.
4: I achieved 2 out of 3 of my targets.
5: I had some great real friends supporting me 🥰

I’ve been a single parent to 3 daughters for the past 12 years. I’ve been to every parents evening, had every argument about homework & revising. This still hasn’t prepared me to let grumpy teenager/adult leave to go to uni. ☹️ still learning as a parent and I’m not ready 😭

My first walk without a knee brace 🙌🏻🙌🏻 saw orthopaedics and MRI shows a tear to MCL and meniscus damage but no surgery needed. So physio and gentle exercise. But I’m coming back 😁 I’m also keeping the crochet 🧶 as I enjoy it
