Malakal was once the second largest city in South Sudan, but when conflict broke out in 2013, many residents fled to Sudan.
Now, as war rages in the country that once gave them refuge, they are returning to their previous home.
Like Roda, they need help to rebuild their lives.

concluded a joint visit to South Sudan, where they witnessed the impact of one of the world’s most complex and challenging humanitarian crises a year since the start of the conflict in neighbouring Sudan.

Agoth, and her extended family of 19, spent three days travelling by foot 🚶🏾, and then by truck 🚚, to reach the border, after fleeing the conflict in
#Khartoum
, Sudan 🇸🇩.

South Sudan has received the largest influx from
#Sudan
of over 640,000 people, or an average of 1,800 people a day.
We urge the government to continue to welcome those fleeing, so that they can access the protection and assistance they need.
