Therein lies the problem with wrestling fans. They (I’m guilty too) think it’s bigger than it is. In reality it’s a very, very niche sport. That’s why expansion (new teams/women’s teams) doesn’t make a ton of business sense. And it’s impossible for a causal fan to understand.

This is frustrating. A program like Oklahoma State, which hasn’t been able to get over the hump for a while now, should have enough people/resources to be a leader in NIL/portal stuff and they’ve let it get out ahead of them and now have to play catch up. It’s a huge mistake.

Obviously that’s not the intention but isn’t that part of skill/technique in wrestling? There are people that are great and others that aren’t bc of time/effort focused on bottom, no? Another aspect of what makes folk style great. Have to be good in all 3 positions to win big.

OKC was the worst I’ve ever experienced and they were not ready at all. Been thinking of ways to make sure downtown hotels/bars/restaurants are aware of how many people will be showing up and out and about. It’s embarrassing not to be ready for it but I have a feeling they won’t.

Yeah, 9 of them. Rankings don’t tell the whole story but they’d have 1 AA by rankings. That’s not good. Floor is definitely 1 AA, ceiling is 3. Bottom line, need better wrestlers practically across the board.
