1967-1980 as a student, I seen not one student ever singled out for how they looked, all of us were treated well . Our teachers were good & honorable people, many had known hard times, some served in past wars. They also demanded sportsmanship, unlike what we see today.

When I was in school, 1967-1980, we had no cops in the schools, knew nothing about the personal lives & political views of our teachers had sex education in the 7th & 9th grades, had no school shootings & the closest thing to pornography allowed was national geographic magazine.

When I was in school many decades ago, the closest thing that the school offered to porn was national geographic. Sex education was taught in the 7th & 9th grades. We knew very little about the personal lives of our educators. The US was among the leaders in education.

Anyone else have great memories of the Nation that we once had? I loved growing up in the 60's & 70's , the 80's was my favorite decade. Alot of ups & downs in my life. Military service is what I am most proud of. Midwest values, small town hanging out on the weekends , gone now.

I think many of us who enlisted in the military decades ago had a sense of patriotism . I dont see that like I use too. Maybe thats why recruiting is way down. It turned out to me to be one of the highlites of my life .

I grew up in a time where people did not care what someone looked like, or how they voted or thier views on social issues. Back then, people meant what they said & business ended with a handshake. Jokes were told & nobody got offended.Crime was low & law enforcement was respected
