Black women in Illinois are 3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications.
Over 80% of those deaths are preventable.
By proposing $23 million towards the Birth Equity initiative in his FY25 budget,

Today we’re one step closer to eliminating racial disparities in Illinois’ maternal morality rates.
