Hockey Memory: Nick Lidstrom received his new gloves for the Olympics at the morning skate while we were on the road. He tossed them to me and said, “ Kenny wear these all day and break them in for me”. So I did. You know how hard it is to write notes with hockey gloves on LOL.

Thank you to all who wished me well and sent prayers. It truly is appreciated. I was in quite a bit of pain yesterday calling the game. Had a procedure done as soon as we got back from Ottawa. All went well. Will be on IR for at least a week. Enjoy

Just to clarify, and this is only my opinion, any team involved in post season play (which includes play-in games) shouldn’t have the opportunity to get the number one draft pick. That should only be reserved for teams who aren’t allowed to compete in the post season.

55 years ago today I went to my first Red Wings game. Howe scored, Sawchuck goalie, Det beat Oakland 5-3. Norm Ferguson scored all 3 Seals goals.1st Seals road hat trick in their history. Little did I know at the time that 26 years later I’d be calling Red Wings games.

It surprises me how some fans are so negative about the Wings. These kids are exciting to watch, the vets have pep in their step. There will be bumps along the way but they really are heading in the right direction. Don't be negative. Just enjoy the ride.

49 years ago today I went to my first Red Wings game, an afternoon tilt vs Oakland. Gordie Howe scored. Terry Sawchuk was in net (traded a few days later to NYR) Norm Ferguson scored Seals 1st ever hat trick on the road. Quite a game. Wonderful experience.
