We all have preferences but hand-drawn isnt the end-all be-all of animation. Some of modern-day's most highly-praised or beloved animations use rigged puppets w/ varying degrees of movement.

I think we need to keep pushing back against the idea that "Great Storytellers" should run their team into the ground w/o restraint so long as they have money and we get masterpieces.
We should have enough imagination to demand and do better as artists and creators.
It’s poor taste to write a hit piece about Phil Lord’s desire to revise completed shots on an animated film.
He’s a great storyteller & if he has the $ to revise, it’s his right - just as many live action filmmakers do.
Higher pay for animators is needed & has 0 to do with him.

Still remembering how art schools heavily emphasized CGI and Pixar while poo-pooing anime saying "Studios wont hire you if you draw anime". But now western animation is overflowling with anime influences that its showing up in original series and old staples like Ducktales.
If an instructor tells you not to do or draw something, it's a safe bet you'll be able to get a job doing exactly what they said not to do.
