Many people are still confused with new and old tax regime. They are thinking taxes have reduced. Don't mix both regimes.
One with exemptions which has not been changed from 10 years and 95% people are using that regime. Old regime is without exemptions and less than 5% use it.

He is telling lie. He said the basic exemption of 2.5L which was in 2014 is taken to 7L.
I am filing return from 2005. Even this year the exemption is 2.5L.
Either he is being fooled by sitaraman or he is fooling tax payers.
I can share my ITR where the basic exemption is 2.5L.

10 लाख की कार 18 लाख की पड़ती है जिसे कमाने के लिए आपको 25 लाख रुपए कमाने पड़ते हैं तब कहीं जाकर 18 लाख बचते हैं।

Repeatedly saying the education cost is going up tremendously. Fees at private engineering colleges are 20L+.
On top of that, govt charging 18% GST. You pay 18% tax on education & they are worried about your inheritance tax.

Your numbers are underrated. People with 1L income lives mostly in cities and school fees is much higher. Only transportation is more than 3K per month per child. Ask parents who are paying fees in ble, ggn, hyd, Pune etc. If you go your hometown it take more than 50k/trip.

Last the Tax slabs were reduced from 40% to 30% in 1997.

Farmers pay zero tax. Just impose 0.1% tax on them and the govt will fall.

Your point is right in context of cood and maid but living costs, medical treatment, education in metro cities like Mumbai, gurgaon and bengalore are tremendously high. Cost of travelling, automobile, electronics going up by 10-25%.
Also you don't get any social security here.
