Suns shining and I actually slept well. I've been on autopilot all wk. My Dad was taken to Mullingar hospital on Monday very unwell with covid complications. Had a massive heart attack that night and was rushed to St James. We almost lost him. But thanks to his GP, ambulance..

My uncle had symptoms of prostate cancer. Maybe it was fear or embarrassment that prevented him from seeking help. It spread to his bowel which ruptured & he died from sepsis 😢 please don't put off going to your doctor if you've health concerns. Get checked!

It saddens me that bowel screenings are not starting up till September. It's essential in identifying disease in asymptomatic people.This will have terrible life changing consequences for many. It will cost lives. Every week that goes by is adding to the devastation to come. 😢

So I cancelled todays Doc appointment after learning a close contact of a confirmed

Summer evenings are made for feet up, glass of wine and a great book. I sometimes forget to stop and just be. A wise friend tweeted about the sanctuary their beautiful garden offers the soul and it made me stop and take time out to just enjoy mine.

awareness in general is poor, but having engaged in convo with patients, it seems their diagnosis and level of subsequent care is guided by "luck" that your docs have heard of it or are at least willing to do some homework on it 😔 Help!!

crews and staff in both hospitals, I got to hear his voice again. It was only a few mins on the phone yesterday morning but God it was wonderful 🥲 He's in strict isolation as they try to get him well enough to transfer to Beaumont for surgery. Hard not being able to see him...
