In 2024, 71% of citizens agree that, taking everything into account, their country has, on balance, benefitted from being a member of the EU.
This is a staggering increase from 46% in 1984.
Over time, our sense of belonging to the EU has increased: in 2024, 74% feel that they are citizens of the EU.
This is the highest-level ever recorded and 12 percentage points higher than in 2010.
